Being a cricket nerd, one of the absolute bucket list items for me has always been to visit Eden Gardens. This afternoon a bunch of us jumped in a cab and upon arrival started chatting up the security guards to see if they would let us in. Apparently Tubby's soothing tones weren't even required as they pretty much let us straight in for "five minutes only" - ha yeah good one. The non-cricketers will have no idea what I mean when I say that I just got an absolute buzz in being there, the history behind that place is immense. It was pretty easy to imagine it being jammed full with 120,000 Indians back in the day when Sunil Gavaskar still captained the team. To be honest the place would appear run down and a bit boring to the average, but the majestic beauty of such a gorgeous specimen was not lost on this cricket tragic.
