We Are All Over The World

I found a short passage in Walt Whitman's original 1855 edition of 'Leaves of Grass' that resonates with my experience of India two years ago, just as it may with some of you who are on the trip at the moment. It's just as much about keeping the trip with you after it has finished as it is enjoying it while it lasts. I love tracing thoughts on the blog, and look forward to learning more about your experience in the days to come.

These are the thoughts of all men in all ages and lands, they are not original with me,
If they are not yours as much as mine they are nothing or next to nothing,
If they do not enclose everything they are next to nothing,
If they are not the riddle and the untying of the riddle they are nothing,
If they are not just as close as they are distant they are nothing.

This is the grass that grows wherever the land is and the water is,
This is the common air that bathes the globe.
