Mumbai Slum

Last night we were all taken on a journey through one of Mumbai's slums guided by some of the local rugby players that live inside the slum. This journey was a very eye opening experience for myself and many others as we squeezed through the tight little alley ways. One of the guide's rugby team mates invited us inside his home which slept four people and his house was only about 4 metres wide by 4 metres long and everything that his family needed was squeezed inside this small little square shaped house.

However the one thing that made me really happy was to see how proud not only this young boy was of his house but how proud the whole slum community were as they stood outside their homes. The one thing that really stood out to me was how nearly every person you walked past would smile or say hello to us which was really cool to see.
