Marble Glory

While the case can be made that leaving your camera locked in your main bag, while visiting one of the eight wonders of the world was a foolish mistake, I see it differently. It gave me an opportunity that none of the other boys received: I was able to truly take in the grandeur of the 5000 slabs of marble and stand in awe at the twenty-two years of superb craftsmanship. Having said that, I'm sure my parents will point out that it was for the very reason of capturing these moments that a camera was given. Well played Mum & Dad, but may I just second that by saying the true nature of this trip was to immerse myself in India, which I believe, albeit only because I have no other choice, that this can not fully be achieved through the artificial lens of a camera.

All jokes aside, the inspiring beauty of The Taj Mahal cannot be overlooked. It was the ultimate dedication to love and its lifespan over five centuries is testament to the careful planning and perfect execution that took place. An amazing place that I would definitely return to, perhaps with my camera this time?

NB- I'm back to feeling healthy again!
