A Romance Cut Short

After a short walk each morning, just down the road, we would reach the high point of the day as soon as we walked into the pristine Blue Sky Cafe. As we walked through the elegant doors we would be greeted by possibly the greatest individual of all time. This man's name was Sam. The smiles and yelling coming from this small man were accompanied with the warm hugs and elaborate fist bumps. They were always appreciated, especially by those of the party that were down with an illness on any particular morning. Now after a thrilling ride through Varanasi in which we could see 10 metres ahead due to the heavy fog, similar to skiing in a white out, I felt a chilling realisation. The warmth of Sam and the Blue Sky Cafe have been left behind in Kolkata. The mornings will never be the same. Filled with nostalgia after being there only 7 days, I must say; goodbye Sam, you beautiful soul.
