Thoughts on Varanasi

As we prepare to leave this city after our brief stay I thought I'd share a few thoughts on faith. While here it is easy to sense the spirituality of this place. Drifting down Ganga watching as the Hindi people go through their religious rituals brings into focus the commitment to religion there is in India. And while we only saw a tiny part of the Hindu followers customs one must acknowledge that a billion people in India are faithful to this way of living. And Hinduism isn't even the only religion in India. Reflecting on this shows how much of a back seat that religion has taken in western society.
