Mr. Jordan's real age

Yesterday a small group voyaged on an afternoon expedition to the Ganges. What followed was a series of interesting events, the highlight of which was Mr. Jordan being insulted on two different occasions. A friendly Indian man spots our group of six sitting down (including both Rachel Candy and Shane Jordan) and enquires as to whether we are a family. Despite Mr. Jordan's protests we say yes (telling him that I am adopted). The man calmly accepts this. At this point Mr. Jordan exclaims "How old do you think I am?" (Having been recognised as the father of the family). The man cooly responds "maybe 55". Mr. Jordan simply shakes his head and walks off in a mixture of both disgust and humiliation.

An hour later, our small group sat down to witness a daily ceremony that, despite questioning by several members of the group, workers at the ghats could not provide a meaning for. Angus Grant (being the strapping lad that he is) is approached by an Indian man who compliments Angus on his good looks and overall handsome demeanour. Angus wards off the further advances made by the man. Perhaps, looking to re-instil some confidence (after the banter an hour earlier), Mr. Jordan plucks up the courage to ask if he too would be considered handsome. The answer: "No! You are bald." Shane promptly stands up and announces that we are going back to the hotel. He has since been in a mild state of depression and emerged this morning from his hotel room with several tear stains marked on his face. Let's hope that he can work through these issues.
