A new chapter in our journey through India has begun, with an eleven hour train ride to Varanasi completed at the early hour of 6am this morning.
Our time spent in the City of Joy was one of many unique experiences we will have this month, however with the all the available time spent in a flurry of activity over the last 7 days we are all grateful for today's "lockdown" at Hotel Surya.
We will all be up at 5 sharp tomorrow morning, so the prospect of an early start is in the back of all of our minds. At the moment however, I am surrounded by a dozen good mates playing poker, reading, and drinking coke out of dirty glass bottles, in the garden of what used to (apparently according to the Hotel staff) be the residence of the King of Nepal.
Life is good.
