It's been a pretty surreal day just sitting on a quiet lawn in our hotel away from the noise, smells and bustle of everyday India, sipping away at a cold coke, enjoying a good novel and waiting for food to be delivered. As necessary as this day is for us all to recover, and prepare for the next stage of the trip I personally can't wait to get back out there to experience the true India, get dirty, enjoy a few curries and meet the ever surprising array of people.
Tomorrow morning we have a wake up call at 5am to head out to the Ganges for a trip down river to experience the ghats (including the burning ghats). Until then however I'll continue to enjoy a nice photocopied version of Dan Browns 'Inferno' bought at a side store for $4 :)
If you think however that we are having it too easy, for those Fawlty Tower fans among you, just imagine us at a hotel where every waiter is Manuel, where food must be ordered an hour at least before when you actually want it and your order repeated to them at every 20 minute interval to ensure that the food will be remembered!
