Our Glorious Sick

I'm not supposed to be blogging today but I felt the need to describe the experience of being sick in this country.

It hit me last night, while we were at Future Hope. Thankfully, it hit me only after we had done all the enjoyable stuff with the kids and before the apparently petrol-smelling meal of fish, which I managed to escape.

After I emptied my guts multiple times into the dingy toilet (apologies to the fine people at Future Hope for the cleaning which will be required), Mr Skeen assured me my timing could not have been better. I skipped that dinner and the next day's events were apparently more tourist-y. According to him, the 24 hours I spent sick and miserable could not have been chosen better.

Fortunately my ejections have only been coming from the mouth (sorry to anyone who is eating, this next part has to be said). One of my experiences was throwing up water, something I had never done, but have been told be I may do again into the future. While his thoughts were appreciated, I do not relish the thought of more of that.

I missed this morning's activities for a chance to sleep, drink and read my book, along with 6 other boys all not feeling their best.

I'm now much better, and I have had two whole biscuits which have so far stayed down, an exciting development. I look forward to getting back into it all soon.
