Time here in India seems to be flying past. Every day is a never-ending rush of faces, sights and emotions.
As we are now over half way through this crazy adventure, I would like to just share a thought on the only constant thing that has ran throughout this whole trip - the people.
The smiles, hospitality and joy of the Kolkata locals was what made the city by far the most enjoyable so far. By focusing on the people, it took my mind off the squalor and the dirt that they live in. Everybody had time to share a story or take a photo, and this made the city special.
Varanasi was hard to judge, as we only really got a feel for the hotel, but driving around did not give me the same feeling of welcome that we all experienced in Kolkata.
Delhi is different. The people are a lot more aggressive and they are not willing to smile as readily as those in the previous cities. This has allowed me to focus on all the negative things about the city (pollution, noise and poverty being the main three) and has left me feeling a little down about the place.
However things are looking up, as apparently the people of Jaipur are energetic and friendly, so we should get along just fine.
