Ever since Alex told me he was going on a trip to India, most of my thoughts on it were largely negative, and revolved around how his absence would affect me- like him not being around for Christmas and New Years and such. I thought very little about how his life would change- I already thought that he was about as reflective and as "good", if you will, as an eighteen year old boy could get. In hindsight, that was really very selfish of me. But now when I read about how all these incidences in Kolkata, and currently Varanasi, have affected him already, I am finally seeing quite how deeply and positively this trip will shape his (and all of your) characters. It will be really very interesting to see how you've all changed when you get back :-) I think it will be a bit scary for all us siblings and mothers and fathers. Your day-to-day life sounds so vibrant! I have no doubt that you've all touched the lives of those around you.
Alexo, you've been such a massive role model in my life for ages, and I'm so glad that you have the opportunity to explore India! I'll also use this time to tell you that your slippers are now my slippers, and that the fish and I miss you very much!
