In Your Own Bubble

So far, India has been amazing, sad and hilarious all at the same time. We've only been here 3 days or so and it feels like well over a week. Being fully immersed in your own "bubble" without the distractions of the environment in Auckland means you are so much more aware, all of the time.
Days feel so full of activities, with many experiences occurring every hour. The sights, and particularly the smells, around the streets continue to wake you up and be aware. Whether it's the beggars throwing their poor, naked and filthy babies in your face and demanding your money and belongings or dry wretching at the whiff of faeces coming from the gutters on the side of the road. However, there are so many positive experiences that affect us each day; the friendliness of the local people, the enthusiasm of the waiters in the cafe as they play games where they decide to give you the wrong dish, wait for your reaction and then scream and come in for the big hi-fives, or just roaming the streets with mates and simply experiencing the culture. Each day is an emotional roller coaster like nothing I've ever experienced before and it's an epic place to be.

  1. Wassup Mitchy Benny boy here. India sounds like a pretty confusing place. Sydney was pretty epic- fields were 'dint' - just started the district tourney which goes onto the 23rd. Aussie are ripping the poms apart. Keep playing byc with the locals- itll help you play spin when you get back ;). Keep taking it one day at a time mate. Embrace it. Have fun. See you at the coromandel.
